Two persons were killed on the spot after their moped collided with a car on Sira-Madhugiri road in Sira taluk of Tumakuru district on Monday.
The police said that the deceased have been identified as Ananthappa (54) of Doddanahalli and Thayamma (58) of Magodu.
Ananthappa, who was going on his moped from Doddanahalli, saw Thayamma at Magodu bus stop waiting for a bus to go to Sira. He offered her a ride on the pillion. While on the road, a car collided with their moped around 11 a.m. and both were killed on the spot.
A case has been registered at Sira police station.
