GREATER NOIDA: A
physical training instructor was accused of
bullying a Class X student on Saturday by asking him to take off his clothes and perform a ‘ramp walk’ in front of other students.
The 38-year-old teacher from a government school in Sikandrabad of Bulandshahr had come to
Dadri for the zonal sports competition that was held in another government school of a village on September 29. The student is a from Shikarpur village of Bulandshahr while the teacher is from Bhetona village which is in the same district. The instructor was hired on a contract basis in the government school of Sikandrabad and was living with other participants in a private school in Dadri for the three-day sports event.
An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, told TOI that the matter started when four students demanded the mattress from the victim he was sleeping on. When he refused, the students returned with the instructor and bullied him. He also shot a
video of the boy on his mobile phone.
The boy later called the police control room and a team reached the spot, however, no case was registered. Police recovered the video of the boy. Ram Sen Singh, SHO at Dadri police station denied having any information of the case. “A PCR van must have reached the spot after a call was made, however, no written complaint was given in this regard. The two parties must have reached on a compromise,” the SHO added.
The teacher was reportedly detained in the police station till Sunday morning and was released when the victim’s parents came there. They refused to file any complaint in this regard.
Meanwhile, Praveen Kumar Upadhyay, inspector of schools in Gautam Budh Nagar confirmed the bullying and said that the matter has been informed to the district inspector of school of Bulandshahr for conducting a departmental inquiry against the teacher.
