Ashok went to Shimoga to test the coins and Manjunath showed him some real gold coins. So he believed him and along with his friends went to Shimoga again to collect all the gold coins. They visited Kallapur village with Rs 1 lakh cash on Sunday. Manjunath handed over a bag containing the gold coins after performing some pooja and asked them to open the bag only in front of the God. He took the money from them and went away.

These five persons opened the bag at a temple and realised they had been duped only after they washed the coins, which turned out to be fake.

They were looking for Manjunath in the village carrying the bag given by him, which had kumkum on it. The villagers got suspicious that they were child-lifters, so they caught hold of them and thrashed them.

Police have registered a case against Manjunath and are searching for him.
