LUCKNOW: As if a joint opposition seeking to put the ruling BJP on a mat over killing of Vivek Tiwari by a police man was not enough, BJP ally and SBSP chief
Om Prakash Rajhbar on Monday slammed the
Yogi government over hushing up the case while accusing the ruling dispensation over deteriorating
law and order situation in the state.
Rajbhar tweeted that a common man was killed by a police which is taking money in the name of encounters. "The state is in the grip of crime and law and order situation has become a joke. CM Yogi has not succeeded in controlling the crime situation in the state,'' Rajbhar said.
In another tweet, the cabinet minister squarely blamed the state government of failing to imbibe a feeling of protection to the people. He also demanded a
CBI inquiry into killing of Tiwari and action against the accused police personnel.
The minister has been embrassing the state government through his comments on a number of times, often accusing the ruling party of being corrupt and failing on the law and order situation in the state.
Rajbhar's attack in the Yogi government comes a day after BJP MLA from Shahhabad Rajni Tewari attacked the state government machinery of pressuring the Tiwari's family.
The development evoked sharp reaction from the BJP brass with UP BJP chief
Mahendra Nath Pandey asking the BJP MLAs and the allies to maintain discipline in issuing statements against the state government and officials. On Sunday, law minister Brijesh Pathak too had said that the role of the some of the high level officials need to be probed.
