MYSURU: Former chief minister
Siddaramaiah revealed he has been made head of the coordination committee of the coalition government for good reason — to troubleshoot. And since he is in charge of the crucial panel, he insisted that the JD(S)-Congress government will complete its five-year term.
Pointedly asked on Sunday if he is the troubleshooter for the government, Siddaramaiah affirmed: “That is why I have been made head of the coordination committee.” He said the panel will meet when necessary, while minor differences will be sorted outside the panel.
Hours later he reaffirmed his commitment to the stability of the government, tweeting, “I’ve been made the leader of Coordination Committee to be the
trouble shooter for the coalition government. I’ll not allow anyone to destabilize the govt.”
Siddaramaiah, who also heads the Congress legislature party, asserted that there are no differences between MLAs of his party. Remarking on reported factionalism, he claimed it was the media which is creating problems for the government. According to him, people are happy with the quality of governance and said the farm loan waiver has sent a positive message to the far ming community.
