Sharon Osbourne quits 'X Factor'

has announced her departure from "X Factor" after making a series of comments against the music reality show and creator

The 65-year-old, who has been part of the show since 2004, was suppose to return to the series for the live shows later this year.

Osbourne confirmed the on her page.

"After watching the new season of unfold, I've seen the new judges finding their rhythm and (they) are doing brilliantly. Simon was so gracious to find me a spot on the live shows but at this point I really don't think I'm needed and I would honestly feel odd coming in at this point.

"So I have decided to pass on the series this year. I wish the show continued success and as much as I love to get my face on TV you will have to do without me this season" she wrote.

Earlier this month, in a lighthearted interview to US DJ Howard Stern, Osbourne targeted the "little s***" auditions, "soap opera" star and "f*****g pain in the arse"

ITV told in a statement, "can confirm has decided not to return to this year's show. Sharon will always be a big part of family and we wish her all the best for the future.
