Kochi: CPM politburo member and former general secretary
Prakash Karat has said that the party supporters should vote for the
Congress in the upcoming assemble elections in
Rajasthan where the major fight is between that party and the BJP.
Speaking at a seminar organized in the Maharaja’s College here on Monday, Karat said that this is for overcoming the challenges posed by BJP and not because of the CPM approves Congress’ party programme.
In many states the regional parties have much influence, Karat said. So, the alliances like the ones which had been formulated during Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka elections should evolve. A national front comprising various political parties having different ideologies is not possible, the CPM politburo member said. tnn
