VIJAYAWADA: The
Andhra Pradesh Congress on Monday released its
manifesto for the 2019 elections. State Congress president N
Raghuveera Reddy, formally released the manifesto and the wall-posters and pamphlets for distribution.
The manifesto reiterated the party’s commitment to the special category status to the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Raghuveera Reddy, said that the wall-poster and pamphlets would be distributed to every house in the State from October 2 to 31. The party at the national level would launch this Jan Sampark (meeting people) and the AP Congress too would launch the programme.
The APCC chief said that the Congress had promised loan waiver for the self-help group women to the extent of Rs 2 lakh per member, loan waiver and GST exemption for the weavers, four LPG cylinders free per year for every BPL family and revival of the
Rajiv Arogya Sri.
The AP Congress also promised BC reservations for the Kapus without disturbing the existing BC quota and reservations in the private sector.
The state Congress president Raghuveera Reddy would launch the Jan Sampark programme at Arasuvalli temple in Srikakulam on October 2. This would follow the Congress leaders organising similar programmes in every district.
Raghuveera Reddy said that the BJP at the Centre and the TDP in the State have failed to protect the interests of the people in the last four years. The YSR Congress in the State too had failed to play the opposition role, he said and maintained that the Congress is the only alternative for the people in the State and at the Centre too. He reiterated that the Congress would fulfil every promise that is made now ahead of the elections.
