Vadodara: Around 200 organizations and individuals, who donated money and relief materials for Kerala floods, will be felicitated by Baroda Kerala Samajam (BKS) on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Individuals and organizations from the city donated money amounting to Rs 45.5 lakh and relief materials including medicines and food worth Rs 90 lakh to BKS during its collection drive last month. While the donation was directly handed over to Kerala chief minister, seven truckloads of relief materials were distributed among the victims by the volunteers who stayed in the God’s own country for a fortnight. Keeping in view the generosity of the donors, the community will felicitate the donors at Medical College auditorium.
“Not only people hailing from Kerala, but locals and citizens of other states living in Vadodara too donated generously which supported our efforts to send money and materials to Kerala therefore we decided to felicitate them,” said G C Nair, president of BKS.tnn
