Congress manifesto committee chairman and former Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha said the party can offer better future for Telangana when compared to the TRS.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said it was Congress that offered loan waiver in one go and free power to the farming sector.
“Many of the promises made by the TRS are not fulfilled. We will prepare an election manifesto that will address all the requirements of the State, and for this, we are consulting all the sections of society,” said Mr. Damodar.
Meanwhile, raising many an eyebrow, Toorpu Jaya Reddy, daughter of former Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy, assured party workers that her father would be active in politics once again after a break. “The government has filed false cases against him and we are sure he will come out clean. He needed a break as his was stressed. But he is recovering now and will take part in party activities soon,” she said, while addressing media persons along with her mother and Mahila Congress president Nirmala Jayaprakash Reddy.
The party would commence Janda Panduga—hoisting of the party flag in various parts of the constituency—from Monday and it has planned to involve Ms. Jaya Reddy in the programme.
