Party high command steps in to curb dissidence

The TRS party high command has summoned important leaders and cadre of Station Ghanpur constituency in view of mass opposition to the candidature of T. Rajaiah.

The team of leaders will be led by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and they will meet IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao on Monday who will taking stock of the situation.

Mr. Srihari told the media here on Sunday. He said people of Station Ghanpur were demanding that he contest the election as he was associated with them for the past many years. “I was a minister for 10 years and brought lot of development in all villages. It is natural for them to ask me to contest from there. But the party high command will take a decision,” he said.

On the rumours that he was joining Congress party, Mr. Srihari clarified that he will stay in TRS come what may. He was opposed to the Congress party. It was the TDP that gave him political birth while the TRS honoured with good position.

On the change of candidates in some constituencies, he said to his knowledge there may not be any change in candidates already announced. The discontent among aspirants and cadre will subside by the time of notification and TRS would do well in all 12 constituencies of erstwhile Warangal district.

He also clarified that his daughter Kavitha was not in race as already candidates have been announced in the district.

On Konda Surekha’s claim of influencing the poll outcome in six constituencies, Mr. Srihari said it was a false claim. Had they had that much strength, they should not contest from Warangal East. Why was Konda couple choosing Parkal constituency?

On the mega DSC and other promises being by TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, he said the Congress leader lacked knowledge on resources and economy of the state.
