The first ever eviction on the 12th season of reality show 'Bigg Boss' was quite a surprise for viewers, after host Salman Khan announced it was a double eviction. Apart from Delhi girl Kriti Verma and Kolkata’s Roshmi Banik, Haryana cop Nirmal Singh also had to leave the house. Nirmal had entered the 'Bigg Boss' house with his friend Romil Chaudhary, and after the duo came in danger of being eliminated, Salman gave them the option to decide which one of them would go home. Nirmal decided it was curtains for him in the show. Speaking to DT moments after leaving the 'Bigg Boss' house, Nirmal said that he had no regrets about leaving the show this early. “It was a brief stay but it was good. I managed to maintain my image and the dignity of my job. I made new friends and got love from millions of fans. I have no regrets,” the 36-year-old said.
Nirmal, who is posted as a head constable with the Haryana Police in Karnal, said he was glad he did not get into any meaningless drama inside the house, otherwise it would have been embarrassing for him to face his seniors. “I am looking forward to seeing how my seniors react to me being in Bigg Boss. But I’m happy ki koi drama nahin hua. Vardi ki aur apni image maine rakh li. Nautanki ki koi naubat hi nahi aayi, and I deliberately stayed away from all that,” Nirmal told us.

Before going into the house, Nirmal had told us that he aimed to use the show’s platform to change people’s perceptions about cops and people from Haryana in general. Nirmal feels that he has managed to acieve that in the two weeks he was in the house. He explained, “If you look at the people in the house, they saw me as one of them, and not as an outsider. That is what I wanted to show, ki hum Haryanvi log aur hum policewale bhi insaan hi hain.”

Nirmal will now get back to work in Karnal, but he said that he will miss the show and the new friends he made there. “It was a nice experience and I will pray that others do well. I will miss that environment, and being in the house. I will particularly miss Anup Jalota ji and Shrishti (Rode) from the house. Ummeed karta hoon phir milna hoga sab se,” he said.
