Nagpur: District and sessions court judge V P Ingle convicted two persons for raping two minors, including a seven-year-old boy, and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment each on Thursday and Friday.
In the first case, one Ramdas Bende, 38, raped his 17-year-old neighbour at his home in Jalakheda on August 12, 2013. Jalakheda police soon arrested Bende based on a complaint lodged under section 376(1) of IPC by the survivor. The then API of Jalakheda police P S Jadhav led the investigation while lawyer Asawari Parsodkar was the public prosecutor. Bende was also fined Rs10,000.
In another incident, one Sukhlal Salam, 20, sodomized a seven-year-old boy at a farm in Katol on May 11, 2016. Police said the minor went to the farm with Salam as the latter had promised to give him mangos. Katol police arrested Salam following the survivor’s complaint under section 377 of IPC.
