"We demand that CM Yogi Adityanath should come at the spot and ensure justice to our family. We are not going to cremate the body if he continues to ignore our demands," she said.
Kalpana also said that Rs 25 lakh compensation is not enough for her family. She said that Vivek was the only earning member of the family and she is worried about the future of her kids. She demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore.
AAP Minister Sanjay Singh also met Vivek Tiwari's family. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal spoke to Kalpana Tiwari over the phone and assured of all possible help.
The UP government has assured the family of fast track proceedings in the case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also constituted to probe Tiwari's death.
Vivek Tiwari was shot by a UP cop early on Saturday morning after he allegedly refused to stop his car. Vivek was returning home from work. He was accompanied by a woman colleague. He was asked to stop by two policemen. When Vivek refused to stop, one of the cops shot him.
He was immediately taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The postmortem report also confirmed that Vivek was shot on his chin.
Speaking to India Today, UP DGP OP Singh said, "A murder case has been filed against both the constables. We believe that both the accused cops resorted to aggression which wasn't required."
