The Jet Airways, in a statement, confirmed the emergency landing of the aircraft and said its engineering team was inspecting the plane.
A Jet Airways flight from Hyderabad to Indore made an emergency landing at the destination airport due to a technical glitch in one of its engines.

“Jet Airways’ flight 9W 955, Hyderabad to Indore of 30th September, 2018, made an emergency landing at Indore. The Boeing 737 aircraft with 96 guests and 7 crew landed safely and all were successfully deplaned,” Jet said in a statement. The airline mentioned it was an “engine issue” but didn’t elaborate.

“The airline has informed the authorities of the event and Jet Airways’ engineering teams are inspecting the aircraft,” the airline added in the statement.

The Boeing 737 is a twin-engine plane and can safely landed in the event that one of them fails. Jet’s bigger rival and market leader IndiGo faced faced such failures for several months on its Airbus A320neo powered by new geared turbofan engines made by Pratt & Whitney. Unlike IndiGo however, Jet’s engine failure wasn’t an entry-into-service issue that happens with new products.

On September 20, several passengers aboard a Mumbai-Jaipur Jet flight suffered severe bleeding from the nose and ears due to an extreme fluction in cabin pressure as the pilot forgot to flick a switch that operates the same. Five of them were taken to a hospital.
