Pune: Narendra Lagad trained Wild Fire coasted to an impressive win to secure The Jamshed Dalal Trophy, the Class II race for horses rated 60 to 86 run over 1200 metres at Pune Race Course here on Saturday.

The Equus Stud-bred purple grey three-year-old bay colt was by far the most impressive winner of the day as Aniket Karande steered the horse in a scintillating run to trounce the opposition hands down.

Lagad had two more horses in the fray — Excellent Gold and Star Of Thea, who finished in third and fifth positions respectively. Excellent Gold had A Sandesh in the saddle, while Star Of Thea had PS Kaviraj astride.

Among jockeys, PS Chouhan scored a double, while among trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha too scored two wins on a day when a card of seven races was scheduled.
