Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association claimed its bandh call elicited a positive response, with nearly 90% of all medical stores in the state, including those belonging to chains like Apollo Pharmacy and MedPlus, downing their shutters for the day.
“We attended to around 200 calls from people asking for emergency medicines. They were diverted to emergency numbers. In Koti area, we witnessed a 100% bandh. Even private pharmacy chains like Apollo Pharmacy and Med-Plus cooperated with us and shut down their shops,” said Ch Janardhan Rao, president, Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association.
