But not all were happy with the outcome

Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, several elected representatives and top officials of various government bodies in the city did not turn up for a meeting organised under the aegis of United Bengaluru, on Saturday, at Indiranagar Club. People representing RWAs, commercial establishments, and the general public from various parts of the city attended the meeting to deliberate on issues that ranged from potholes to increasing commercialisation.

The organisers claimed that some of the elected representatives, including Mr. Parameshwara who is also Bengaluru Development Minister, skipped the meet despite confirming that they would attend. Freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy, Lok Sabha member P.C. Mohan, Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrashekar and Malleswaram MLA C.N. Ashwathnarayan and experts from various fields addressed the gathering.

During the interaction, residents not just from Indiranagar but also other parts of the city, like J.P. Nagar, expressed their anguish over illegal operations of commercial establishments in residential areas. Other issues discussed included poor infrastructure facilities, long wait to get BDA sites, the poor state of lakes, and improper implementation of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act.

However, iChangeIndiranagar, which participated in the event, expressed unhappiness with the way it was conducted.
