Bhopal smart city development corporation limited (BSCDCL) has earned the top slot in terms of project implementation across the city among 100 smart cities. It has jumped from its earlier ranking of fifth position in the ranking of Union ministry of housing and urban affairs to the first position, in the fresh list which was released by the union ministry on Friday.
Bhopal has secured 310.9 points while Nagpur stood second with 263.4 points and Surat stood third with securing 249.02 points. Indore stood on tenth position while Ujjain is placed on the thirteenth and Sagar is placed on eighteenth position. Bhopal has so far released work orders of over Rs 1400 crores and majority of the projects are on the verge of completion.
The projects which have been completed include multi-level parking, bio-methanisation plant, ITMS, incubation center, B-nest, Solar plant at the headquarter of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation and at the ISBT, public bike sharing, Bhopal plus app, Bhopal smart app, Mayor express, phase 1 of the conservation work at Sadar Manzil and Smart lighting. The rating was issued on the basis of the review of the pace of works and review of implementation of projects and works.
