After Gandhi, Kalam gave new value system

Dr Sudhir Kumar Mishra, to whom missile-man Dr APJ Abdul Kalam had chosen some 25 years ago as his team member for the Mission BrahMos, shared some experience about him. “Dr Kalam spent public life throughout. He was quite transparent person. He used to enquire about the status of problems which a person told him and took interest solve them. Despite enjoying the supreme office of President of India, he never forgot the name of a person who worked with him as a team member.

Dr Kalam gave rise to aspirations, generated a new phase of life, spread a new thinking to all and particularly to youngsters. He delivered a new value system to the Indian society after Mahatma Gandhi,” explained he. Dr Mishra also said that India had been a centre of knowledge for the time immemorial as we think in different way. Our Vedas, Puranas, Adi Guru Shankarcharya and Swami Vivekanand have shown us the path of knowledge. Ujjain has also got a special position so far as development of knowledge and science is concerned.

In fact, people related to Ujjain’s history had put a theory that the rulers would have to need knowledge besides strength of power. It is not compulsory that you would get success on the very first step whether it relates to science or any other new field. Leader should possess several qualities like technical knowhow, human resources, best management practices, coordination with team members and who don’t claim for success and rather give its credit to the team members. Involvement of thousands of people would be there for the success of a project. “Overnight success is the hard work of 20 years,” he added.
