Mazda Driver Gets Foot Stuck Between Pedals, Lands Upside Down In Front Of Car Wash

As far as car accidents go, this has to be one of the weirdest we’ve come across lately. A Mazda2 supermini, for some reason, came speeding in a parking lot, smashed through a gate and landed on the roof of a Chiropractic office.

That’s not all, though: the Mazda then rolled backwards and dropped down into the driveway below upside down, right in front of a car wash.

According to WSB-TV Atlanta, the driver of the car, 63-year old Stanley Clarke, had only minor injuries.

“It shook the foundation of the floor,” said Dr. Aletha Chappelear, a chiropractor who was there when the incident took place. “It shook the foundation of the building and the walls.”

She also believes that her building’s solid structure is the only thing that kept the car from crashing through the roof, which could have been extremely dangerous not only for her but also her patients.

“It’s truly a miracle that things happened the way that they did and that no one was hurt,” added the witness.

As for why the Mazda crashed in the first place, Chappelear told a reporter that the driver’s foot became stuck between the gas and brake pedals, resulting in him losing control.

The footage, posted to YouTube by Chris Lewis, also shows the car driving through the parking lot prior to the crash. By the looks of it, the driver still had plenty of room/time to shift into Neutral and apply the handbrake. Of course in moments of distress, that’s easier said than done.

Well, the good news is that no one was hurt. The bad news, at least for Mr. Clarke, is that the car wash in front of which he landed won’t be able to buff this one off…
