Armymen take out pan-India bicycle rally from hill retreat

Udhagamandalam: A pan India bicycle rally to promote the spirit of adventure was launched by the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington on Friday to commemorate the Infantry Day on October 27.
Ten members headed by Capt. Shubham Singh of the MRC started peddling from the Thangaraj Stadium in MRC to reach New Delhi on October 27 – the Infantry Day. They will be covering a distance of about 2,741km in 30 days. The team will travel through seven states and visit important places enroute.

Flagging off the rally, Brigadier SK Sangwan, VSM, commandant, said, “Such rallies are regularly undertaken by the Army in order to increase awareness and to project a positive image of the armed forces.”
