Eryri’s young farmers put the lid on a “difficult” 12 months by electing a new leadership team to take the federation forward over the next year.
At the county’s AGM, Miriam Williams of Godre’r Eifl YFC was elected chairman and Allen Wynne Owen, of Beudy Glas, Criccieth , was voted president.
The occasion saw all 11 of Eryri’s clubs gather at Caernarfon Golf Club to receive end-of-year awards and open their accounts for the next year of competitions.
Outgoing chairman Dafydd Sion Williams praised staff and members for rallying together after the county lost a sizeable chunk of its funding.
“It’s been a difficult year, what with losing our council grant,” he said.
“But all the members and staff carried on regardless. I wish the movement all the best to the future – it’s in safe hands with the new officer team.”
Caernarfon dominated the year’s stockjudging silverware. Bedwyr Jones won the U18s trophy for most points and Robat Griffith collected the U26 cup.
Sharing the Catherine Rhian Trophy for most competition points over the year were Ysbyty Ifan and Llanrwst YFCs.
And winning the Henblas trophy, as the best performing small club, was Godre’r Eifl YFC.

Also elected was vice chair Beca Glyn, of Ysbyty Ifan YFC, and vice president Ann Williams, from Lithfaen.
Treasurer is Elin Jones, of Godre’r Eifl, with Glesni Jones, Dyffryn Nantlle, as her deputy.
