Cape Town – Paramount Pictures has just released the first look image of Taron Egerton as Elton John in the upcoming film about the singer’s life.
In the picture the young actor is draped in gold and sitting confidently in a private jet while wearing John’s signature bespectacled look.

The film Rocketman will follow John's emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar.
According to the official synopsis it is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years.
Other cast members include: Bryce Dallas Howard who will be playing his mother, Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden will play his manager John Reid and Jamie Bell as his lyricist.
The film will be directed by Dexter Fletcher, with John and his partner David Furnish as producers.
It is scheduled for release in May 2019.
