The Telangana Legislative Council has started its proceedings from the new premises, the Council Hall within the majestic Jubilee Hall premises that has been handed over to the State by neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

The Council Hall went to AP post bifurcation and was in its possession till recently. The premises was handed over to Telangana after series of meetings between the legislature ministers and secretaries of the two States.

Subsequently, the chamber of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was modified and the Chief Minister had inspected the changes made before the commencement of the proceedings.

The one-day session had been conducted to fulfil the constitutional obligation of conducting the session within six months of the previous one and the House passed resolutions condoling the deaths of eminent personalities like former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and world renowned mimicry artiste Nerella Venumadhav.

The Chief Minister moved resolutions condoling the deaths of these people that were passed by the House. Council Chairman K. Swamy Goud moved resolutions condoling the death of people in the ghastly road mishap at Kondagattu as also the loss of lives and properties in the floods that devastated Kerala before adjourning the House sine die.
