MUMBAI: Sheena Bora murder accused
Indrani Mukerjea was admitted to JJ Hospital on Friday afternoon after she presented with headache and low blood pressure. This is her second hospital visit in a span of five days.
Mukerjea was taken to the state-run Hospital from
Byculla jail at around 11.45am. Medical superintendent Dr Sanjay Surase said the 45-year-old prisoner was brought to medicine OPD at 11.45am and was seen by Dr Wiqar Shaikh.
“The patient complained of headache and decreased blood pressure, hence hospitalisation was advised,” he said. She was admitted in CCU in view of her history of
hypotension with neurovascular problem. Doctors at JJ have said that she is stable and undergoing investigations.
Early in the week, she was rushed with similar problems to JJ, but was not admitted. Doctors have kept her under observation for four hours and sent her back to prison. Jail authorities then had said that she may have to undergo an MRI as advised by doctors. Mukerjea have in two occasions, in 2015 and April 2018, been brought to JJ with symptoms of drug overdose.
In the Byculla jail, Mukerjea has been kept under strict surveillance and under CCTV observation.
