Three students injured as concrete lumps fall from ceiling
VADODARA: Pieces of concrete fell from the ceiling of a school in the Mahisagar district on Friday afternoon, injuring three students. The students were rushed to the a hospital for treatment.

The incident took place at the Tankana Muvada primary school in Lunawada taluka when the students were having their mid-day meal. The ceiling was in a dilapidated condition for quite some time now, sources said.

Three students - Viral Khant of class I and Sunil Khant and Ashokkumar Khant of class V - were injured in the incident, which led to panic among other children too.

The students were rushed to the government hospital at Lunawada for treatment. As many as 26 students study at the school that has classes till standard five. Others sitting near those injured had a narrow escape.

The buildings of the school was constructed sometime around 1990 and needed repairs. The situation of some other schools in the district is also similar, sources said.
