PhonePe partners DMRC to facilitate smartcard recharges

PhonePe will be the exclusive partner to power UPI payments for DMRC smartcard recharges. Commuters can also use PhonePe as a payment option to recharge their smart card on DMRC website.
PhonePe partners DMRC to facilitate smartcard recharges Digital payments platform PhonePe has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to enable PhonePe users recharge their DMRC smartcards on the app.

The service will be available through a micro app in the newly created 'Apps' section on the PhonePe app.

The company said it will be the exclusive partner to power UPI payments for DMRC smartcard recharges. Commuters can also use PhonePe as a payment option to recharge their smart card on DMRC website.

This partnership adds to PhonePe’s travel and commute services portfolio which already has cabs, buses, hotels and flight services.

Last month, PhonePe, which is part of Walmart-owned Flipkart group, had partnered with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to facilitate digital payments.

It also has partnerships with MakeMyTrip's Goibibo and redBus to launch micro apps for hotels, flights and buses respectively on its app.
