Diamond baron Savji Dholakiya,
promoter of Rs 6,000 crore Hari Krishna Exports, has continued with the tradition of gifting cars to the deserving employees.
Dholakiya, who have given cars to 300-odd employees four years ago as bonus, gave senior three staffers a pleasant surprise by gifting them Mercedes Benz worth Rs one crore on Thursday.
Nilesh Jada (40), Mukesh Chandpara (38) and Mahesh Chandpara (43), who had joined the company in their early teens, look after key departments of management, cleaving and manufacturing respectively.
The car keys were handed over to them by Madhya Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel.
Talking to TOI, Dholakiya said, “These three had joined us when they were just around 13 or 15 years old. They started with learning to cut diamonds and polish it and now they are not only experts but most senior and one of the most trusted people of our company.”
Dholakiya said, “I felt we must recognize their work and loyalty to the company and so I decided to gift them these cars as our gratitude to them and their loyalty and hard work.”
After receiving his car keys, Jada said, “This gift is a certificate that I am doing my work honestly. When you do your work with energy and honesty, you can get a great result and this is an example.”
“My employer believes in giving and not receiving,” said Jada who drives to office in an Innova at present.
Chandpara, who oversees manufacturing said, “What could be a better motivation for an employee than receiving such a luxurious gift? In our company, seniors and superiors believe that our people should reach top level of success.”
On the occasion, the company also handed over Rs one crore insurance cheques to the family members wife, son and parents of its former staffer Dilip Savaliya, a fancy diamond artist, who died in car accident this year .
