Metro services on the Green Line were affected for a little more than an hour after a metro train developed a technical snag.
Around 9.46 a.m., a metro train running from Yelachenahalli to Nagasandra stations on the Green Line developed a technical snag while approaching National College Metro Station. The train had to be withdrawn from passenger service, said a release from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
This had an effect on the schedule causing other trains to be delayed. “BMRCL had taken immediate steps to normalise the situation by the quickest possible means by introducing one additional train from Nagasandra, two trains from Rajajinagar and one train from Peenya Industry Metro Station,” said the release.
Passengers in trains that were running at the time had to get off at National College, Rajajinagar, Peenya Industry and Sampige Road stations.
According to passengers, trains towards Nagasandra were running up to 30 minutes late, and there were long queues in a few stations.
BMRCL said normal train services were restored according to their schedule at 10.57 a.m. from Yelachenahalli and Nagasandra stations.
“BMRCL regrets the inconvenience caused to the Namma Metro patrons,” said the release.
