GREATER NOIDA: A 14-year-old girl living in
Sector 63 has accused her father of sexually assaulting her for three years. The matter came to light on Wednesday night when she called the police.
The girl’s father was sent to jail after the medical reports of the girl confirmed
rape on Thursday.
According to police, the accused, who is originally from Kanpur, lived in Sector 63 with his wife and the 14-year-old daughter. He worked as a helper in factories, cops said.
On September 26 around 9pm, the girl called the police helpline and told them that t her father raped her. A police team soon reached the spot and detained him for questioning.
The girl told cops that she was subjected to cruelty for three years. She did not tell her mother about her ordeal because her father had threatened her against telling anyone, she said.
Akhilesh Tripathi, SHO of Phase III police station, said an FIR was filed against the accused after a medical examination of the girl confirmed rape. “The accused was sent to jail and will be produced in court soon,” Tripathi added.
