CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin was admitted to Apollo Hospitals here on Wednesday night for an elective procedure to remove a cyst from his right thigh.
A medical bulletin issued by the hospital said the 65-year old leader had undergone a minor surgery and would be discharged by Thursday afternoon.

"He is doing well. He will go home in a couple of hours," said a senior doctor attending to him.

On Wednesday, Stalin hosted a dinner for doctors and paramedics who cared for his father and late Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi. "None of us knew he was getting admitted," said one of the doctors.

On Thursday morning, MDMK chief Vaiko met reporters after visiting Stalin in the hospital. "He is well. He will go home soon, " he said.
