Member of Parliament K. Kavitha said Konda Laxman Bapuji, who actively participated in the Telangana liberation struggle, was an inspiration to all. She paid homage to Bapuji by garlanding his statue on the occasion of his 103rd birth anniversary here on Thursday.
The TRS government was officially holding his birth anniversary celebrations to enlighten the future generations of his services to the society, she said.
Stating that the Horticulture University was named after Konda Laxman Bapuji, she said he had played a pivotal role in Quit India movement and also in the Telangana armed struggle. Mayor Akula Sujatha and former MLA B. Ganesh Gupta were among those who were present.
In a separate event, Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao paid homage to Bapuji at Pragathi Bhavan, while in Kamareddy, Agriculture Minister P. Srinivas Reddy and Collector N. Satyanarayana garlanded his statue.
