Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday triggered a controversy as he shared confidential information of the first few beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Biswa's tweet, which was later deleted, named 21 people, the ailments they were suffering from and the hospitals they were admitted to. His tweet was shared by union minister
Jayant Sinha. It created outrage on social media with people questioning the patients' breach of privacy.
A user said, "Is this not violation of privacy to publish patient names with their medical issues and hospital on social media? Have they consented to this?"
