A father of two children filed a habeas corpus petition before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday, seeking the production of his wife before the court, alleging that she was in the custody of a former Minister’s son.
The petitioner, K. Vijay Rajesh Kumar, of Chennai, sought a direction to set her free. He said his wife joined the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. In her third year, she got acquainted with J. Ratheesh, son of ex-Minister K.A. Jayapal of Nagapattinam.
A Division Bench decided to hear the plea in-camera after the petitioner and his wife presented themselves before the court.
