Father suspects role of daughter’s parents-in-law

A 28-year-old woman, whose father is a special sub-inspector, on Tuesday succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident on Monday night. Her father suspected that the accident could have been staged by her father-in-law.

According to the police, Ramya, the daughter of Thulasilingam, 54, attached to the North Beach Police Station, was working at a beauty parlour in Nungambakkam.

On Monday, around 10 p.m, she was returning home on a two-wheeler on Wall Tax Road when a mini-lorry hit her vehicle from the rear.

She sustained grievous injuries and died at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.

Mr. Thulasilingam said he suspected the role of his daughter’s parents-in-law as there was a dispute between them.
