CHANDIGARH: After three
days of continuous rain, sun shined on the Tricity again on Tuesday. Maximum temperature in the city rose by around seven degrees Celsius, even though it remained below normal by 3 degrees. According to the Chandigarh met department, maximum temperature is expected to rise further with dry weather expected this week.
Maximum temperature was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius in the
city observatory on Tuesday. On Monday, maximum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius below normal while minimum temperature stood at 1 degree Celsius below normal after 34.7mm rainfall till 8.30am and 63.8mm rainfall till 5.30pm. Day temperature was 23 degrees Celsius while night temperature was 20 degrees Celsius.
Night temperature was normal at 20.2 degrees Celsius. On Monday also, it was 20 degrees Celsius. Temperature in the Airport observatory was a maximum of 30.6 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal and 20.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
For Wednesday, the Chandigarh met department has predicted partly cloudy sky with maximum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of around 22 degrees Celsius. These are expected to rise to 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius by Friday.
