It was a pleasant start to the week as rain continued to lash the city, bringing the maximum temperature down from 31.2 degrees Celsius recorded on Sunday to 27 degrees on Monday.

The minimum settled at 24 degrees Celsius.
The Capital received 24 mm of rainfall at Safdarjung weather station which is the official reading of the city while the Palam, Lodhi and Aya Nagar observatories recording 24.5 mm, 20.2 mm and 23 mm respectively.
The forecast for Tuesday reads partly cloudy sky with moderate rainfall and scattered thundershowers with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to settle around 34 and 23 degrees Celsius.
The MeT department said that there would be partly cloudy sky on Wednesday. Thereafter, the city will have mainly clear skies, it added.
Traffic updates
The rain caused waterlogging and traffic jams at several areas of the city.
The Delhi Police Twitter handle that provides real-time information on traffic updates stated that Fatehpuri T-point on S.P. Mukherjee Marg, Rajdhani Park, Mehrauli-Badarpur T-point and Pramod Mahajan Marg were waterlogged causing slow traffic.
