The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is organising several passenger awareness programmes on safety on trains and on railway premises, in view of the RPF 34th Raising Day, said Senior Divisional Security Commissioner S.R. Gandhi.
The force has been conducting a series of programmes from Sept. 20 to 25, in all railway stations, Mr. Gandhi said at a press conference held here on Monday. .“As many as 800 force are working in 150 RPF stations in Vijayawada division. Besides, 55 home guards posts have been proposed and several programmes, including a seminar, is planned to hone up the skills of RPF personnel,” the security commissioner said.
Explaining the highlights of RPF in the division, Mr. Gandhi said the force detected 157 cases (up to August, 2018) booked under Railway Property (Unlawful Possession), Act 1966, and apprehended 164 persons.
RPF Assistant Security Commissioner C.J. Chakradhar, and Inspector of Protection Force D. Srinivas Rao were present.
