30 sovereigns, Rs 15L stolen from house

Coimbatore: Thirty sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 15 lakh in cash were stolen from a locked house at VIP Garden at Chinthamanipudur near Sulur on Monday evening.
House owner P Pradeepkumar, who runs a textile shop in Tirupur, and family had left the house on Monday morning. They returned in the evening to find the front door broke opened and the valuables missing.

A police team from the Sulur station reached the spot and conducted inquiries. Fingerprint experts, who visited the place, could not find any clue.

Pradeepkumar told police that the money was from a land deal.

Police are checking CCTV footage collected from the area and have formed a special team to nab the burglars.
