Hundial at Meenakshi temple opened

The hundial collection at Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple was ₹62,41,385 on Tuesday.

The counting began in the early hours of the day with a total of 310 officials, including Assistant Commissioner from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department M. Ramasamy, Temple Fit Person Karumuttu T. Kannan, Temple Joint Commissioner N. Natarajan, workers from the Ayyappa Seva Sanagam, officials from State Bank of India and the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple.

According to a press statement, the counting included repository from affiliated temples such as the Mariamman and Muktheeswarar temples in Teppakulam, Thiruvapudaiyar temple in Sellur and the Tirumarainathar Temple in Tiruvadavur.

A total of 710 grams of gold, 4.39 kg of silver, 1.233 kg of gold and silver coins, 825 grams of brass and 686 currency notes from various foreign nations were counted.
