A latest communication from the banned CPI (Maoist) on its 15th anniversary has called for converting the tri-junction into a guerrilla zone. The tri-junction is the forest area where the Kerala–Karnataka–Tamil Nadu borders meet.

Chennai:
“Currently, our People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army members are recruiting more people from the area to convert the tri-junction into a guerrilla zone,” a release from the outfit said. A guerrilla zone is an area under the control of a rebel group.
Claiming that in certain areas in Chhattisgarh, the outfit has formed an ‘alternative government’ by bringing back the sons of the soil to power, the communication said something similar should be established in the tri-junction area with the participation of locals. Criticising the Centre and State governments strongly, it said the outfit would lead the protest to eradicate imperialism in Tamil Nadu.
It also issued a clarion call to rebel against the ruling class to end the alleged exploitation of the working class. Sleuths from Tamil Nadu ‘Q’ branch, monitoring terror suspects and Naxals in the State, had been claiming that Naxals were holed up in the tri-junction jungle area.
