Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal created ruckus during immersion of Ganesha idols near Hira Mills Chawl and raised slogans against UMC administration. They blackened face of UMC sub-engineer Anil Jain (55) for stopping devotees from dumping flowers and garlands in pond. Dewasgate police registered an FIR against two activists Ankit Choube and Mahesh Kumawat in this regard under sections 353, 355, 186 and 84 of the IPC. Later, irked over the incident, municipal officials met collector Manish Singh and urged him to take steps for protection of officials.
