BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ms. Marisa Paige Butler of Standish, Maine, has been crowned MISS WORLD AMERICA 2018!

On Saturday, Clarissa Bowers, MISS WORLD AMERICA 2017, handed the crown to Ms. Butler during a private event held at MISS WORLD AMERICA headquarters. The newly appointed MISS WORLD AMERICA national director Michael Blakey stated: "We were looking for an intelligent, beautiful and charismatic person who can successfully represent the MISS WORLD brand, and be an advocate for our "Beauty with a Purpose" philosophy. Marisa truly embodies all these qualifications!"

Ms. Butler will begin preparing for her month long visit to Sanya, China where she will represent the USA at THE 68th ANNUAL MISS WORLD competition on December 8th.

Marisa Paige Butler, is a 24-year-old Standish, Maine native, currently living in San Diego California, where she works as an Investment Executive Assistant at Sprott Global. Marisa graduated cum laude from Stonehill College in Easton Massachusetts with a degree in Economics and a minor in Business.

In early 2018, Michael Blakey of Electra Star Management was appointed National Director of MISS WORLD AMERICA through 2023. He has assembled a new team to take the national contest to the next level and transform it into a premier beauty pageant and television show by 2019.

MISS WORLD AMERICA is a U.S. franchise of MISS WORLD, the oldest running international beauty pageant. Each year, the winner of the Miss World America competition represents the United States at the Miss World final.
