On Thursday the Worli police registered a case against a fellow mate. The Worli police have lodged a case against the whistleblower cop Sunil Toke for allegedly threatening two policemen. According to Mumbai Mirror, the incident took place on Thursday night when Constable Samadhan Patil (32) and his colleague attached with the Worli traffic department had stopped their vehicle on the road for urinating. And after which Sunil Toke came in a Toyota Innova, started filming them.
An officer from Worli police station told the leading daily, “When they asked him to stop filming them as they were only relieving themselves, and it was around midnight (23.40 hours), he threatened them that if they did not follow his orders, they would be suspended. Toke then caught hold of the steering of the police vehicle and forced Patil’s colleague to bring the police jeep from B DD Chawl in Worli to Worli police station.” Sunil Toke also pulled Patil into his vehicle and brought him to the police station so that the other colleague followed them.
The Worli police have registered a case against Sunil Toke under Section 341 (wrongful restraint), 353 (assault or user of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Sunil Toke is known for exposing several incidents of bribery in the Mumbai traffic department. He had also filed a PIL in the Bombay High Court after which the traffic police were forced to carry out several reforms.
