Ujjain: MCMC gets strict against paid political news


A training programme on paid news and district level media certification programme was organised at Brihaspati Bhawan on Monday. Media certification and monitoring committee’s (MCMC) head collector Manish Singh and other officials concerned attended the programme along with media persons.
During the camp the collector advised media persons not to publish paid news. The collector further told that paid news publishing is a crime under Public representation Act 1951. The collector further told that political advertisement must require a certification issued by district level MCMC before publishing or telecasting. MCMC also has a right to take cognisance of any objectionable post or comment. Collector also informed that signboards mentioning political leaders’ on any waiting hall or water tanks are being removed.

LoP registers complaints against senior officials
Leader of opposition Ajay Singh registered complaints with chief election officer against commissioner MB Ojha, collector Manish Singh and zila panchayat CEO Sandeep Rajappa for misusing section 40 and discharging their duties under political pressure maliciously. District Congress head Mahesh Soni also supported the allegations made by Ajay Singh demanded the transfers of the officials.
