Finance minister Arun Jaitley to meet PSU bank chiefs on September 25

Finance minister Arun Jaitley will be meeting the heads of public sector banks on September 25, as part of the annual financial performance review exercise. In this meeting, the finance minister will review the progress made in the reduction of non-performing assets. Jaitley will be discussing credit growth and bad loan situation, and will also review the annual financial performance of public sector banks. Public sector banks have lost more than Rs 87,357 crore in 2017-18. Only the Indian bank and Vijaya bank reported profits in the last fiscal year.
