‘Both TDP, YSRCP corporators looted hundreds of crores’

CPI(M) capital committee convener Ch. Babu Rao and city committee secretary Donepudi Kasinath demanded a CID inquiry into the allegations of corruption against the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation officials and city corporators.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Babu Rao alleged that the corporators of both the TDP and the YSR Congress Party and officials of the civic body have looted hundreds of crores in the past four years.

“Significantly the allegations of corruption by elected representatives and officials are made by none other than the members of the TDP. Mayor Koneru Sreedhar has levelled corruption charges against the corporators of his party while the corporators did the same against Mr. Sreedhar regarding misuse of funds during Krishna Pushkaralu,” he said.

‘No inquiry report’

With these allegations against each other it has become clear to people that all the ruling party members are into corruption and the government too believed the same and conducted inquiries through Anti-Corruption Bureau and Vigilance and Enforcement wings months ago, he said. “So far no inquiry report came out from the government. This signifies the moral stand of TDP government,” he added and demanded that the government immediately launch a thorough probe by the CID.

Mr. Kasinath alleged that the corporators of the Opposition party (YSRCP) have joined TDP corporators in looting people in several ways.
