Bhopal, Hitting back at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for describing him as ‘ghoshna (announcement-making) machine’ during his recent visit to the Madhya Pradesh capital, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that he expected that ‘Baba’ would have matured by now but he reckoned the country to be ‘entertainment’ and makes a ‘spectacle’ out of politics.
“Recently, Baba visited the state capital recently. He repeated the eye gesture that he had enacted soon after hugging the Prime Minister in Parliament. I felt he would have matured but his acts prove otherwise,” said Mr Chouhan while addressing the Karyakarta Mahakumb here today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah were present on the occasion.Taking a dig at the Congress President being projected as a ‘Shiv Bhakt’, he pointed out that photographs of his Mansarovar visit had gone viral but the same has not been done with regards to his other foreign visits.
“I admit that I am a ‘ghoshna machine’. Who can make announcements – one who has the welfare of people in his mind, and one who wants to take his state ahead. We not only made announcements, but we fulfilled them too,” said the Chief Minister while recounting development works carried out by his regime.
“More than 1.5 lakh km roads had been laid since 2003, irrigation capacity has been expanded to 40 lakh hectare, electricity is being provided round-the-clock and several schemes launched for the welfare and security of women,” he said.
On the occasion, Mr Chouhan administered pledge to party workers to devote their entire time to the party for the next two months before assembly elections, to ensure that their booth emerged victorious and to support anyone declared candidate by the party.
He called upon them to ensure that the party romped home with more than 200 seats in assembly elections and win all 29 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
