Fun has just begun, more info on Rafale in 2-3 mths: Rahul

AMETHI/NEW DELHI: Continuing with his tirade against PM Narendra Modi over the Rafale deal, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said the "fun had just begun" and more interesting details would emerge in the next two-three months.

Addressing Congress workers in Amethi's Musafirkhana, he said, "This is just the beginning. More fun awaits in the next two-three months. We will prove that the PM is not a watchman but a thief."

In a video circulated among party workers in his constituency, Rahul said, "Those who had come to fight corruption, handed Rs 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani. This is just the beginning. I'm telling you... We will show more interesting things in the next two-three months."

The Congress chief added, "All of the PM's deeds... Rafale, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, demonetisation, GST... they are all scams. One by one, we will show that Modiji is not watchman, he is a thief."

These mark the strongest words from Congress against Modi, a pitch that has gained a shrill edge since former French president Francois Hollande contradicted the Centre and said the Modi government had chosen Reliance Defence (in place of HAL) as the offsets partner in the Rafale deal.

Questioning Modi's silence on the issue, Congress said only Modi and Hollande were in the room where the deal was signed and Hollande had spoken. "Only the PM can speak on the issue now, not the finance minister or the agriculture minister or the defence minister," Congress spokespersons Kapil Sibal and Jaiveer Shergill said.
